Richfield Reaching Methodist Church is here to serve you! We offer a blended service on Sundays @10AM. The Worship Service blends contemporary and traditional elements to reach out and minister to various ages and stages of life and religious experience. Our Mission Statement is, “Love God, Love Others, & Love to Serve.” We strive to honor God above all else while acknowledging that we are all flawed and in need of Gods Amazing Grace.
The Richfield Methodist Congregation began to gather and organize in 1839. As the congregation grew the work to build the Church you see today began and was completed at a cost of around $2,000. The first services at the Richfield Church were held on Palm Sunday in 1879. In 1924 the lower level was dug out from underneath, the building and the Church was placed on it’s current foundation. The ‘KIDZ KLUB’ Building (Former Parsonage) located to the left of the main building, was constructed in 1928 and has been updated to be utilized as a place for children to grow and learn about the Love of Christ. We are able to serve ages 0-8 in the KIDZ KLUB during the sermon portion of service.
The foyer was added in the late 1970’s and most recently a major remodel of the lower level that allows for the community a place to gather, share a meal, and make memories. Recently, the installation of a lift was completed, making our facility fully ADA accessible. Anyone can now participate regardless of mobility challenges. The lift is lovingly called “Our Glass Willy Wonkavator.” Those who need, may enter through the front doors, where the lift is just steps away. The lift can take people to the main Sanctuary, to the Fellowship Hall where there is the Dinning Space, Family Space, Youth/Educational Area, Restrooms, and Kitchen.
We have security cameras that allows for protection so that we can see those entering the Church and those entering the KIDZ KLUB. The Trustees have an app on their phone in order to further protect those attending. Currently, we are weapon, smoke, alcohol, nut, & seafood free, other than certain outreach food items (Trunk Or Treat/EGG-Stravaganza Candy). We continue to adapt to needed updates in all areas to make Richfield Reaching a second home to many. We want all to feel welcomed, safe, and respected…despite our differences, we gather on Holy Ground to worship God and encourage “One-Another.” If you have any concerns or needs while visiting Richfield, just reach out to Pastor Long @ 248-417-1196, and she will provide the appropriate contact or referral information when necessary.
